The issue

Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem may cause the throttle signal to be inverted. If this happens, the engine may not return to idle. As a result, the trucks don't meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a Cummins X15d engine. Safety Risk: An engine that doesn't return to idle could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the electronic control unit software.

Problème : Dans certaines conditions, un problème logiciel pourrait inverser le signal d'accélération. Si cela se produisait, le moteur pourrait ne pas retourner au ralenti. Par conséquent, les camions ne respectent pas certaines exigences de la réglementation canadienne. Remarque : Ce rappel concerne seulement certains camions munis d'un moteur Cummins X15d. Risques pour la sécurité : Un moteur qui ne retourne pas au ralenti pourrait causer une perte de contrôle et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Volvo Trucks doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire, pour faire mettre à jour le logiciel de l'unité de commande électronique.
