The issue

Issue: On certain electric school buses, hardware inside the high-voltage battery could loosen and detach. As a result, the battery could short circuit. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the high-voltage battery could overheat. Note: This recall only affects certain buses equipped with a PowerDrive 7000 electric drivetrain. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A battery that overheats can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and will make arrangements to repair the high-voltage battery.

Problème : Sur certains autobus scolaires électriques, des pièces de fixation à l'intérieur de la batterie haute tension pourraient se desserrer et se détacher. Par conséquent, la batterie pourrait subir un court-circuit. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir une perte de puissance aux roues et/ou une surchauffe de la batterie haute tension. Remarque : Ce rappel concerne uniquement certains autobus équipés d'une transmission électrique PowerDrive 7000. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance aux roues pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Une batterie qui surchauffe pourrait créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives : Cummins doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et organiser la réparation de la batterie haute tension.
