The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the passenger occupant classification system may malfunction. This could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag even when a passenger is seated. Note: This problem would cause an error message to display on the instrument panel and a warning chime to sound. The airbag indicator light would also display "passenger airbag off". Safety Risk: An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury to a passenger in a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front seat cushion. Porsche advises that you shouldn't use the front passenger seat if an error message displays on the instrument panel or if the airbag indicator light displays "passenger airbag off" with an occupant in the seat.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le système de classification d'occupant du véhicule du côté passager avant pourrait ne pas fonctionner correctement. Cela pourrait désactiver le système de coussins gonflables du passager avant, même lorsque le siège est occupé. Remarque : Ce problème entraînerait l'affichage d'un message d'erreur sur le tableau de bord et le déclenchement d'un carillon. Le voyant du coussin gonflable indiquerait également le message « passenger airbag off » (coussin gonflable côté passager désactivé). Risques pour la sécurité : Un coussin gonflable désactivé pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures pour le passager en cas d'accident. Mesures correctives : Porsche doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer le coussin du siège du passager avant. Porsche recommande de ne pas transporter une personne sur le siège du passager avant si un message d'erreur est affiché sur le tableau de bord ou que le voyant du coussin gonflable indique le message « passenger airbag off » (coussin gonflable côté passager désactivé).
