The issue

Issue: On a small number of motorcycles, the cardan shaft (shaft drive) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the connection between the shaft and universal joint could slip. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the rear wheel. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the rear wheel could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW Motorrad will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the cardan shaft.

Problème : Sur un petit nombre de motocyclettes, l'arbre à cardan (arbre d'entraînement) pourrait ne pas avoir été fabriqué correctement. Par conséquent, le raccord entre l'arbre et le joint universel pourrait glisser. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir une perte de puissance à la roue arrière. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance de la roue arrière pourrait augmenter le risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : BMW Motorrad doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur motocyclette chez un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer l'arbre à cardan.
