The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, poor signal strength could cause the electronic control unit (ECU) to stop working or not to work properly. As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-655. Safety Risks: Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reprogram the ECU software.

Problème: Sur certains camions, un signal trop faible pourrait faire en sorte que l'unité de commande électronique (ECU) ne fonctionne pas ou fonctionne mal. Par conséquent, certains systèmes de sécurité pourraient ne pas fonctionner, dont le système de freinage antiblocage, l'antipatinage automatique, le contrôle électronique de la stabilité, le régulateur de vitesse actif et le système de freinage à réduction d'impact. Remarque : Ce rappel s'ajoute au rappel de Transports Canada numéro 2024-655. Risques pour la sécurité: Des systèmes de sécurité du véhicule qui ne fonctionnent pas correctement pourraient augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives: International Motors doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour faire reprogrammer le logiciel de l'ECU.
