The issue
Issue: On certain vehicles, the electronic taillight wiring harness may not have proper circuit protection. Additionally, water could leak into the harness connection. If this happens, the module could short circuit and the wiring could overheat. Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or wiring that overheats can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions and a kit for how to inspect and, if necessary, repair the electronic taillight wiring harness.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, le faisceau de câbles des feux arrière électroniques pourrait ne pas avoir une protection de circuit adéquate. De plus, de l'eau pourrait s'infiltrer dans la connexion du faisceau. Si cela se produisait, le module pourrait subir un court-circuit et le câblage pourrait surchauffer. Risques pour la sécurité : Un court-circuit et/ou un câblage qui surchauffe peuvent créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives : Altec Industries doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur fournir des instructions et une trousse pour inspecter et, au besoin, réparer le faisceau de câbles des feux arrière électroniques.
