The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the recall repairs completed by a Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) dealer during recall F1020 (Transport Canada recall no. 2025-269) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain trucks, the stud on the frame that connects the battery and/or auxiliary power distribution to the starter may not have been installed properly. As a result, there could be a short circuit, and the wiring could overheat and melt. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-269. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to remove the stud and relocate the jump start connection.

Problème : Sur certains camions, les réparations effectuées par un concessionnaire Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) dans le cadre du rappel F1020 (numéro de rappel 2025-269 de Transports Canada) pourraient ne pas être efficaces. Par conséquent, une deuxième réparation est nécessaire. Sur certains camions, le goujon sur le châssis qui relie la batterie et/ou le système de distribution de l'alimentation auxiliaire au démarreur pourrait ne pas avoir été installé correctement. Par conséquent, il pourrait y avoir un court-circuit et le câblage pourrait surchauffer et fondre. Remarque : Ce rappel remplace le rappel numéro 2025-269 de Transports Canada. Les véhicules qui ont été réparés dans le cadre de ce rappel nécessitent également cette réparation. Risques pour la sécurité : Un court-circuit et/ou un câblage qui surchauffe et fond pourraient créer un risque d'incendie. Mesures correctives : Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion dans un centre de service autorisé de DTNA afin de retirer le goujon et de déplacer le point de connexion pour le démarrage à l'aide d'une batterie externe.
