The issue
On certain trucks, the non-locking retractor seat belts may loosen during normal vehicle operating conditions. The free end of the seat belt may creep back into the retractor without warning, allowing undesirable occupant movement during a sudden vehicle maneuver, and possible personal injury. Correction: Non-locking retractor will be replaced with an automatic locking retractor. Note: This recall supersedes recall 198588.

Sur certains camions, les ceintures de sécurité à rappel sans verrouillage peuvent prendre du jeu en cours d'utilisation sans que les occupants s'en aperçoivent, car la partie flottante de la ceinture peut tomber en arrière du dispositif de rappel. En cas de mouvement brusque du véhicule, les ceintures ne retiendrorit pas les occupants solidement et ceux-ci risquent alors d'être blessés.
