The issue
Certain trucks may contain insufficient slip joint clearance between the steering column base in the cab and the frame mounted steering gear. This condition may result in failure of the steering column shaft under normal operasting conditions and could cause loss of vehicle control without prior warning.

Certains camions peuvent comporter un jeu insuffisant au joint coulissant reliant l'extrémité inférieure de la colonne de direction à la boîte de direction montée sur le châssis. Ce défaut peut entraîner l'endommagement de la colonne de direction dans des conditions normales d'utilisation et une perte brusque de maîtrise du véhicule.
