The issue

FLUID INTRUSION INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SWITCH ASSEMBLIES MAY CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WHICH CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE THE SWITCHES TO OVERHEAT. THIS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE IN THE DOOR PANEL AREA. CORRECTION: TWO WINDOW SWITCH ASSEMBLIES WILL BE REPLACED WITH ASSEMBLIES OF A NEW DESIGN. IN ADDITION, 1984 MODELS WILL HAVE THE WINDOW SWITCH CONNECTORS REPLACED WITH CONNECTORS MADE OF A FLAME RETARDANT MATERIAL. NOTE: CONVERTIBLES ONLY ARE AFFECTED.

L'infiltration d'eau dans l'interrupteur de commande de la glace du côté du conducteur peut provoquer un court-circuit et, subséquemment, une surchauffe de l'interrupteur. L'interrupteur surchauffé peut mettre le feu au panneau de garniture de la porte.
