The issue
On certain 750IL vehicles, during the assembly process, the gas pedal may not have been properly attached to the floor pan. If the gas pedal is operated in a rough or erratice manner, it may become stuck between the gas pedal stop (on the floor pan) and the carpeting on the transmission tunnel. If this occurs, the pedal might not return fully to the idle position when the driver's foot is removed and loss of control could result. Application of the brake pedal will close the throttle on this model of vehicle. Correction: Accelerator pedal will be inspected and tightened to the floor is required. Also, a modified pedal stop will be installed.

Sur certaines BMW 750IL, durant l'assemblage, la pédale de l'accélérateur peut ne pas avoir été bien fixée au plancher. Si la pédale est actionnée brusquement, elle peut se coincer entre la butée (fixée au plancher) et le tapis du tunnel de la transmission. Si cela se produit, la pédale peut ne pas retourner complètement à la position de ralenti lorsque le conducteur retire son pied et une perte de la maîtrise du véhicule peut s'ensuivre. Sur ce modèle de véhicule, l'application du frein ferme le papillon de gaz.
