The issue

On certain 740IA and 740ILA vehicles, the inner throttle cable could break due to a smaller than specification bend in the cable tube. If this were to occur, throttle control would be lost and the engine would return to or remain at idle. Correction: Throttle cable will be replaced with one meeting BMW specifications.

Sur certaines BMW 740IA et 740ILA, l'intérieur du câble de l'accélérateur de ces véhicules peut briser parce qu'un des coudes de la gaine du câble est trop aigu. En cas de bris, le conducteur n'aurait plus la maîtrise de l'accélérateur et le moteur reviendrait ou resterait au ralenti. Correction: Le câble de l'accélérateur devra être remplacé par un ensemble satisfaisant aux spécifications de BMW.
