The issue

Certain vehicles may have been built with a steering gear pinion shaft that was improperly heat treated and could fracture in service. This could result in loss of vehicle control and a crash without prior warning. Correction: Manual steering gear will be replaced on affected vehicles.

Sur certains véhicules, le boîtier de direction aurait été doté d'un arbre de pignon qui n'a pas subi le traitement thermique requis et qui pourrait se briser pendant la conduite. Si c'est le cas, le conducteur pourrait subitement perdre le contrôle de son véhicule et avoir un accident. Correction: Le boîtier de direction manuelle devra être remplacé sur les véhicules visés.
