The issue

On certain 1992-1995 four-door sedans and three-door hatchbacks, and 1993-1995 two-door coupes, located in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces, the engine hood secondary latch may corrode and not operate if the latch is not clean and sufficiently coated with lubricant. This may cause the secondary latch to stick in the open position as a result of the corrosion. If the primary latch is not properly locked and the secondary latch is stuck open, the engine hood could fly open restricting the driver's vision and possibly result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will lubricate the hood latch. Also, a maintenence instruction label will be installed next to the latch.

NOTA : Vise les berlines quatre portes et les trois portes 1992-95 de même que les coupés deux portes 1993-95. Ces véhicules se trouvent en Ontario, au Québec et dans les Maritimes.Le crochet secondaire du capot moteur peut se corroder et cesser de fonctionner s’il n’est pas propre et suffisamment enduit de graisse. Il se peut alors que le crochet secondaire grippe en position ouverte sous l’effet de la corrosion. Si le crochet primaire n’est pas bien engagé et que le crochet secondaire est coincé en position ouverte, le capot peut subitement s’ouvrir et bloquer la vue du conducteur, ce qui peut entraîner un accident.Correction : Les concessionnaires devront graisser le crochet du capot. On devra aussi poser près du crochet un autocollant expliquant comment en faire l’entretien.
