The issue
On certain vehicles, the exhaust pipe may be in contact or close proximity to the outer dash panel silencer pad. It is possible that the pipe can generate sufficient heat to cause the pad material to smolder and may ignite adjacent materials resulting in a vehicle fire. Correction: The outer dash silencer pad adjacent to the exhaust pipe will be removed and replaced by a thermal heat shield on the exhaust pipe.

Sur certains véhicules, le tuyau d’échappement peut entrer en contact avec le tampon d’insonorisation extérieur du tableau de bord ou s’en trouver tout près. Il se peut que le tuyau dégage suffisamment de chaleur pour que le tampon se consume lentement, que les matériaux environnants s’enflamment et que le véhicule prenne feu. Correction : Le tampon d’insonorisation extérieur du tableau de bord qui se trouve à proximité du tuyau d’échappement devra être enlevé et remplacé par un bouclier thermique fixé au tuyau d’échappement.
