The issue
On certain vehicles equipped with an option for three batteries, improper routing of the battery cables places the positive cable immediately behind the battery hold down clamp. When the batteries are pushed back into the battery compartment, the positive cable may be chafed or pinched causing the cable to short out and creating a potential risk of fire. Correction: The hole in the back of the battery compartment that is located behind the battery hold down clamp will be plugged. A new hole will be added directly below the rearmost battery cable hole and the positive cable will be rerouted through the new hole.

Sur certains véhicules équipés de trois batteries en option, parce que les câbles des batteries ont été mal acheminés, le câble positif se trouve directement en arrière de la bride de fixation des batteries. Quand les batteries sont poussées vers l’arrière du logement des batteries, il se peut que l’on use ou écrase le câble positif et qu’il se produise un court-circuit, ce qui représente un risque d’incendie. Correction : L’orifice percé dans la paroi arrière du logement des batteries, derrière la bride de fixation, devra être bouché. Un nouvel orifice devra être percé directement sous l’orifice du câble de batterie le plus à l’arrière et le câble positif devra être enfilé dans ce nouvel orifice.
