The issue
Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 301 - Fuel System Integrity. The generator fuel pickup fitting is not sealing properly against the tank wall, and when the tank is full, fuel or fuel vapours can leak out. Correction: The self tapping fuel pickup will be replaced with a new one with a regular thread fitting secured to the tank with a lock nut inside the tank. The fuel sending unit tank opening will be used as an access hole to fasten the fitting and gasoline resistant sealant will be used for sealing.

Certains véhicules ne satisfont pas aux exigences de la NSVAC 301 - Étanchéité du système d’alimentation en carburant.Le raccord d’aspiration du carburant du système d’alimentation de la génératrice n’est pas monté de façon étanche sur la paroi du réservoir et il peut se produire des fuites de carburant ou de vapeurs de carburant quand le réservoir est plein. Correction : Le raccord d’aspiration autotaraudeur devra être remplacé par un raccord fileté ordinaire monté sur le réservoir avec un contre-écrou. On devra se servir de l’ouverture du transducteur comme trou d’accès pour monter le nouveau raccord sur le réservoir et étanchéiser le nouveau dispositif avec un produit d’étanchéité résistant à l’essence.
