The issue

On certain vehicles, the ABS ECU misinterprets certain signals from wheel ends which can result in the temporary loss of braking capability on one or more wheel positions for several seconds. This response results from either an ABS cable that has chafed through the insulation and contacted a rotating part or a misaligned tone ring that has been damaged by contacting other components. Correction: ABS ECU will be replaced with a new ECU with upgraded software capable of detecting and properly responding to erroneous signals.

Sur certains véhicules, le bloc de commande électronique du système ABS interprète mal certains signaux en provenance des roues, ce qui peut mener à une perte temporaire de la puissance de freinage à l'une ou à plusieurs des roues pendant plusieurs secondes. Ce problème est causé soit par un câble ABS dont l'isolation est usée et qui entre en contact avec une pièce rotative , soit par une bague de tonalité mal alignée qui a été endommagée au contact d'autres composants. Correction : Le bloc de commande électronique du système ABS devra être remplacé par un neuf qui est programmé avec une version plus récente du logiciel capable de détecter les signaux erronés et de réagir en conséquence.
