The issue
On certain motorcycles, the washer installed on the side stand spring bolt does not have sufficient hardness and may deform, which could cause the bolt to flex and eventually break during side stand operation. A retracted side stand could drop while riding, possibly activating the side stand ignition cut-off system. If the ignition is cut, the engine will stall without warning, which could cause a crash. Correction: Dealers will install an improved washer and a new spring bolt and nut.

Sur certaines motocyclettes, la rondelle du boulon du ressort de la béquille n'a pas la dureté prévue et pourrait se déformer, ce qui pourrait faire plier le boulon et même le faire casser pendant l'utilisation de la béquille. La béquille pourrait se détacher pendant que la motocyclette est en mouvement, ce qui pourrait actionner le coupe circuit d'allumage de la béquille. Si le moteur s'arrêtait, un accident pourrait se produire. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser une rondelle améliorée ainsi qu'un écrou et un boulon de ressort neufs.
