The issue

On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the steering gear to the chassis mounting bracket have less than full thread engagement. The bolts may become loose and allow the steering gear to separate from the chassis, which may lead to a loss of steering control, resulting in a possible vehicle crash without prior warning. Correction: Dealers will install longer bolts.

Sur certains véhicules, les boulons qui fixent le boîtier de direction sur le support de montage du châssis ne sont pas assez longs. Les boulons pourraient se desserrer et permettre au boîtier de direction de se détacher du châssis, ce qui pourrait provoquer une perte de contrôle de la direction et provoquer un accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser des boulons plus longs.
