The issue

On certain vehicles, the cup plug which retains the park pawl anchor shaft in the 42RLE automatic transmission could be missing or not properly staked in its bore, potentially allowing the shaft to move out of position and preventing the transmission from being placed in the PARK position. If this occurs and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may roll away and cause an accident without warning. Correction: Dealers will install a bracket to ensure that the park pawl anchor shaft is retained in the proper position.

Sur certains véhicules, le bouchon qui retient l'arbre d'ancrage du cliquet de stationnement dans la boîte de vitesses automatique 42RLE pourrait être manquant ou ne pas être ancré adéquatement dans son trou, ce qui pourrait permettre à l'arbre de sortir de sa position et empêcher de placer la boîte de vitesses en position PARK. Si cela se produisait et que le frein de stationnement n'était pas serré, le véhicule pourrait se mettre en mouvement et provoquer un accident. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser un support pour s'assurer que l'arbre d'ancrage du cliquet de stationnement est retenu dans la position adéquate.
