The issue

On certain vehicles equipped with Power Liftgate option, in the event of a liftgate strut malfunction, the liftgate may fall freely without warning after the liftgate is powered open. If the vehicle operator or passenger is standing beneath the liftgate when it falls, an injury may result. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the power liftgate module. The latest software version allows the motor to sense a falling liftgate and activate an un-commanded power close mode to control lowering of the liftgate in the event that a strut failure occurs.

Sur certains véhicules équipés du hayon électrique optionnel, si un des vérins du hayon ne fonctionnait pas bien, le hayon pourrait se fermer brusquement après avoir été ouvert électriquement. Si le conducteur ou un passager du véhicule se trouvait sous le hayon au moment où il se ferme brusquement, la personne pourrait être blessée. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront reprogrammer le module du hayon électrique. La dernière version du logiciel permet au moteur de détecter si le hayon se ferme brusquement et d'actionner un mode de fermeture électrique non commandé pour contrôler la fermeture du hayon si jamais un vérin faisait défaut.
