The issue

On certain Escape Hybrid vehicles, the intermediate shaft used in the front wheel driveline may not have received adequate heat treat process during manufacturing. As a result, the intermediate shaft may fracture while the vehicle is being driven. If a fracture occurs the powertrain will lose the ability to transmit torque to the drive wheels and the transmission will not hold the vehicle stationary when placed in the PARK position. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the intermediate shaft.

Sur certains Escape Hybride, l'arbre intermédiaire utilisé pourrait ne pas avoir subi un traitement thermique adéquat lors de la fabrication. En conséquence, l'arbre intermédiaire pourrait se briser pendant que le véhicule roule. Si cela se produisait, le groupe propulseur perdrait sa capacité à transmettre le couple aux roues motrices et la boîte de vitesses ne maintiendrait pas le véhicule en position stationnaire lorsqu'elle se trouverait en position PARK. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, le cas échéant, remplacer l'arbre intermédiaire.
