The issue
On certain motorhomes equipped with a Norcold Inc. refrigerator, a fatigue crack in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak. If a leak occurs and the refrigerator continues to be operated after solution circulation has ceased, hydrogen gas may be expelled and can be ignited. This could result in a fire, causing property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: Dealers will retrofit the cooling unit with a thermal switch kit.

Sur certaines roulottes à sellette munies d'un réfrigérateur Norcold, une fissure de fatigue dans la section de l'unité de refroidissement qui contient le frigorigène pourrait permettre à la solution liquide de s'échapper lentement. Si une fuite se produisait et que le réfrigérateur continuait à fonctionner après que la solution ait cessé de circuler, l'hydrogène gazeux pourrait être expulsé et s'enflammer. Cela pourrait causer un incendie, endommager des biens matériels, blesser quelqu'un ou entraîner des pertes de vies. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront mettre à jour l'unité de refroidissement par le biais d'un thermocontacteur.
