The issue

On certain vehicles, the lower control link assembly collars (forming the inboard attachment point to the chassis) may not have been manufactured correctly. If the collar weld fails, the cylindrical collar can open, which will allow the collar to slip over the mounting bolt and bushing. This may change the wheel camber, which could allow vehicle handling characteristics to deteriorate, possibly resulting in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the lower control link assembly.

Sur certains véhicules, la tringlerie de commande inférieure comporte des collets cylindriques qui forment les points de fixation intérieurs au châssis. Certains collets pourraient comporter des soudures qui ne respectent pas les spécifications en matière de résistance; si la soudure se brisait, le collet cylindrique pourrait s'ouvrir et permettre au collet de glisser sur l'ensemble bague et boulon de fixation, ce qui pourrait modifier le carrossage de la roue et avoir une incidence sur le comportement du véhicule. Cela pourrait causer un accident, endommager des biens matériels, blesser quelqu'un ou entraîner des pertes de vies. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront réparer les véhicules visés.
