The issue
Certain Pierce custom fire apparatus may be equipped with drop-down fire hose trays mounted under the front bumper. The hose tray latch may accidentally open while the vehicle is in motion. If this occurs, the fire hose may drop to the roadway without warning. Potential injury to people and property may occur. The sudden hose deployment may also distract drivers trying to avoid the hose and a crash may occur. Correction: Dealers will install an updated hose box which include a new and improved latch design.

Certains engins d'incendie personnalisés de marque Pierce pourraient être munis de supports à boyau d'incendie abaissables fixés sous le pare-chocs avant. Le loquet du support à boyau pourrait s'ouvrir accidentellement pendant que le véhicule roule. Si cela se produisait, le boyau d'incendie pourrait tomber sur la chaussée sans avertissement. Des personnes pourraient être blessées et des biens matériels pourraient être endommagés. Le déploiement soudain du boyau pourrait aussi distraire le conducteur qui tenterait d'éviter le boyau; un accident pourrait se produire. Correction : Un loquet amélioré a été développé. Une nouvelle boîte à boyaux munie du nouveau loquet sera posée sur tous les camions visés.
