The issue

On certain vehicles, the clockspring assembly for the driver's airbag may become damaged and fail. As a result the airbag may not function as intended, and the instrument panel warning lamp would illuminate. Failure of the driver's frontal airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the airbag clockspring assembly.

Sur certains véhicules, le contacteur annulaire du coussin gonflable du conducteur pourrait s'endommager et faire défaut. En conséquence, le coussin gonflable pourrait ne pas fonctionner comme prévu, et le voyant d'avertissement du tableau de bord s'allumerait. Si le coussin gonflable frontal du conducteur ne se gonflait pas lors d'un accident (où son gonflement est nécessaire), cela pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures pour la personne assise sur le siège. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, le cas échéant, remplacer le contacteur annulaire du coussin gonflable.
