The issue

On certain vehicles, welds may have been omitted from the fuel tank mounting brackets during the vehicle manufacturing process. This could allow fuel leakage to occur as a result of a severe side impact crash. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, secure the fuel tank brackets using fasteners.

Sur certains véhicules, des soudures pourraient ne pas avoir été faites sur les supports de fixation du réservoir à carburant pendant la fabrication du véhicule. Cela pourrait permettre à une fuite de carburant de se produire suite à un impact latéral important. Une fuite de carburant, en présence d'une source d'inflammation, pourrait causer un incendie endommageant des biens matériels ou blessant quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter les supports du réservoir à carburant et, si nécessaire, les fixer.
