The issue

On certain vehicles, the airbag cover may not have been adequately secured to the driver’s airbag module. As a result, the airbag may deploy with an irregular shape, or the cover may detach during deployment. Failure of the airbag to deploy in the designed manner during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver’s airbag module.

Sur certains véhicules, le recouvrement du coussin gonflable pourrait ne pas avoir été fixé adéquatement au module du coussin gonflable du conducteur. Par conséquent, le coussin gonflable pourrait se déployer dans une forme irrégulière, ou le recouvrement pourrait se détacher au cours du déploiement. Si le coussin gonflable ne se déployait pas comme prévu lors d'un accident (où son déploiement est nécessaire), cela pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures pour la personne assise sur le siège. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, le cas échéant, remplacer le module du coussin gonflable du conducteur.
