The issue

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting and Retroreflective Devices. The vehicles may not give notification of a turn signal malfunction, as is required by the standard. The absence of notification of a turn signal malfunction could, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and driver reactions, increase the risk of a crash causing personal injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reconfigure the central body controller.

Certains véhicules pourraient ne pas se conformer aux exigences de la NSVAC 108 - Système d'éclairage et dispositifs rétroréfléchissants. Les véhicules pourraient ne pas aviser, comme la norme l'exige, le conducteur que les clignotants sont défectueux. L'absence d'un tel avis pourrait, en conjonction avec la densité de la circulation, l'état de la route et les réactions du conducteur, augmenter les risques d'accident endommageant des biens matériels ou blessant quelqu'un. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront reconfigurer le module de commande sur carrosserie central.
