Recall 2013289

The issue

On certain buses equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift, the flexible steel conduit covering the handheld pendant may contact an electrical terminal at the base of the hydraulic pump. This could cause an electrical short, which may result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Ricon Corporation will supply vehicle owners with a cover kit and instructions for proper installation.

Sur certains autobus munis d'un élévateur à fauteuil roulant Ricon, le conduit en acier souple qui recouvre la commande à distance pourrait entrer en contact avec une borne électrique à la base de la pompe hydraulique. Cela pourrait causer un court-circuit, ce qui pourrait incendier le véhicule et endommager des biens matériels ou blesser quelqu'un. Correction : Ricon Corporation devra fournir aux propriétaires de véhicules un ensemble de recouvrement et les instructions permettant de le poser adéquatement.
