The issue

Certain vehicles equipped with electric power steering may experience a sudden loss of power steering assist that could occur at any time while driving. If the power steering assist is lost, a message is displayed on the Driver Information Centre and a chime sounds to inform the driver. Steering control can be maintained, as the vehicle will revert to a manual steering mode, but will require greater driver effort. The sudden change in steering may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will affect repairs as necessary. Note: This recall supersedes recalls 2010447 and 2012331. Vehicles having already been repaired under the previous campaigns do not require re-inspection.

Certains véhicules munis d'une direction assistée électrique pourraient éprouver une perte soudaine de direction assistée qui pourrait se produire en tout temps pendant la conduite. Si la direction assistée fait défaut, un message apparaît dans le Centre d'information du conducteur et un son d'avertissement se fait entendre pour avertir le conducteur. La maîtrise de la direction peut être gardée, car le véhicule retourne au mode de direction manuel, mais la direction exige un effort plus grand de la part du conducteur. Le changement soudain à la direction pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront effectuer les réparations nécessaires. Remarque : Ce rappel remplace les rappels 2010447 et 2012331. Les véhicules qui ont déjà été réparés suite aux autres rappels n'ont pas à subir une nouvelle inspection.
