The issue
On certain motorhomes, the battery compartment was not properly sealed to the interior of the motorhome. The top angle iron used as a stop for the coach battery compartment had no sealant put between the angle iron and the motorhome floor. This could result in gases from the battery entering the interior of the motorhome when there is a negative pressure, which could increase the risk of injury or possibly result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will seal the battery compartment with a caulking bead to prevent gases from entering the motorhome.

Sur certaines autocaravanes, le compartiment de batterie n'a pas été scellé adéquatement à l'intérieur de l'autocaravane. La cornière supérieure utilisée en tant que butée pour le compartiment de batterie ne comporte aucun matériau d'étanchéité entre la cornière et le plancher de l'autocaravane. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que des gaz provenant de la batterie entrent à l'intérieur de l'autocaravane où il y a une pression négative, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques de blessures ou entraîner le déclenchement d'un feu. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront sceller le compartiment de batterie à l'aide d'un cordon de calfeutrage, afin d'empêcher les gaz d'entrer dans l'autocaravane.
