The issue

On certain vehicles, some front left halfshafts may contain a manufacturing defect related to the material hardening. This could result in the front left halfshaft breaking, causing a loss of motive power (on front wheel drive vehicles) and potentially damaging underbody components. In addition, the halfshaft could separate and become a road hazard for other motorists. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the suspect front left halfshaft.

Sur certains véhicules, les arbres de roues motrices avant gauche pourraient présenter un défaut de fabrication relatif au durcissement du matériau. Cela pourrait entraîner leur rupture, une perte de force motrice (véhicules à traction seulement), l’endommagement de composants de soubassement et la séparation des arbres, de même que poser un danger pour d’autres automobilistes et accroître les risques d’accident pouvant causer des blessures et/ou des dommages matériels. Correction : les détaillants doivent remplacer l’arbre avant gauche potentiellement défectueux.
