The issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the power transfer unit (PTU) could become damaged and fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the vehicle could move when it's parked and the parking brake isn't applied. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a two-speed PTU. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels or a parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Problème : Sur certains véhicules, l'unité de transfert de puissance (PTU) pourrait s'endommager et faire défaut. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir une perte de puissance aux roues et/ou le véhicule pourrait se déplacer lorsqu'il est stationné et que le frein de stationnement n'est pas serré. Remarque : Ce rappel concerne seulement certains véhicules équipés d'une unité de transfert de puissance à deux vitesses. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de puissance aux roues ou un véhicule stationné qui se déplace soudainement pourrait créer un risque de blessure ou d'accident. Mesures correctives : FCA Canada doit aviser les propriétaires par écrit. Les mesures correctives pour ce rappel sont en cours d'élaboration.
