The issue
On certain travel trailers, the electric brake wiring may have been routed too close to the center spring hanger of the axles. This could cause the wiring to catch or chafe against the spring hanger, and sever the wire. If the brake wire were to be severed for one of the axles, braking would be lost on that axle, which would increase stopping distances, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will relocate and clamp the wires out of the travel of the spring hanger and shackle.

Sur certaines caravanes classiques, le câblage des freins électriques pourrait passer trop près de la main de ressort centrale et s'accrocher sur la main de ressort ou frotter contre celle-ci et se sectionner. Si le câblage se sectionnait au niveau d'un des essieux, les freins sur cet essieu ne fonctionneraient plus, ce qui pourrait augmenter les distances de freinage et augmenter les risques d'accident pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront déplacer le câblage et le fixer hors de la zone de déplacement de la main de ressort et des jumelles.
