The issue
On certain motorhomes, if the vehicle is parked with the engine running, exhaust gases could enter the vehicle through open windows, storage compartments and other openings in the floor or sidewall. As a result, occupants could be exposed to carbon monoxide, which could lead to asphyxiation or carbon monoxide poisoning. Correction: Dealers will install steel exhaust tips on the end of the exhaust pipe that will allow the vehicle exhaust to extend beyond the exterior of the vehicle.

Sur certaines autocaravanes, les gaz d'échappement pourraient entrer dans le véhicule par les fenêtres ouvertes, les compartiments de rangement et d'autres ouvertures dans le plancher et les cloisons lorsque le véhicule est stationné avec le moteur en marche. Les occupants pourraient alors être exposés à du monoxyde de carbone, ce qui pourrait provoquer l'asphyxie ou une intoxication au monoxyde de carbone. Mesure corrective : Les concessionnaires devront poser un embout en acier à l'extrémité du tuyau d'échappement pour que les gaz s'échappent au-delà du châssis du véhicule.
