The issue

On certain vehicles, the park position switch may malfunction due to a problem with the electrical contacts. This could allow for removal of the ignition key without the shift lever being in the Park (P) position. If the parking brake is not applied, this could result in unintended vehicle movement, which could increase the risk of crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install an additional park position switch and circuit board.

Sur certains véhicules, l'interrupteur de position PARK pourrait mal fonctionner à cause d'un problème avec les contacts électriques. Cela pourrait permettre d'enlever la clé de contact sans que le levier de changement de rapport soit en position Park (P). Si le frein de stationnement n'était pas serré, cela pourrait faire en sorte que le véhicule se déplace subitement, ce qui pourrait augmenter les risques d'un accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront poser une carte de circuits imprimés et un interrupteur de position PARK de plus.
