The issue
On certain trailers, the safety chains installed do not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the trailer. If the trailer were to become uncoupled from the vehicle, underrated safety chains could fail causing the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the underrated safety chains.

La capacité de la chaîne de sécurité installée sur certaines remorques ne dépasse pas le poids nominal brut du véhicule (PNBV). Si la remorque venait à se détacher du véhicule, cette chaîne de sécurité pourrait se briser et la remorque pourrait se séparer complètement du véhicule, ce qui augmenterait les risques de collision causant des blessures ou des dommages matériels. Mesures correctives : Les concessionnaires doivent remplacer les chaînes de sécurité trop faibles.
