The issue

On certain motorhomes built on a Freightliner chassis equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. This could result in the caliper bolts loosening, which could lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, which would result in increased stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Service Facilities will inspect the bolts, and repair as necessary.

Dans certaines autocaravanes comportant un châssis Freightliner doté de freins à disque, les boulons de montage des étriers de frein pourraient avoir été mal serrés au couple, se desserrer et se séparer, ce qui pourrait réduire la force de serrage, entre les étriers et les plaques de fixation de frein, ainsi que l’efficacité des freins, et accroître les distances d’arrêt et les risques d’accident pouvant causer des blessures et/ou des dommages matériels. Mesure corrective : du personnel d’entretien de Daimler Trucks North America inspectera les boulons et effectuera les réparations appropriées, s’il y a lieu.
