The issue

On certain vehicles, the spring-actuated parking brake may have been improperly assembled. This could result in an internal air leak or a complete separation of the parking brake from the service brake chamber, either of which would cause a loss of braking on the affected wheel assembly. This could cause a sudden, unexpected increase in stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace affected brake chamber assemblies.

Dans certains véhicules, le frein de stationnement actionné par ressort pourrait avoir été mal assemblé, ce qui pourrait causer une fuite d’air interne ou une séparation totale du frein de stationnement et du vase à diaphragme. Cela pourrait entraîner une perte d’efficacité du frein de la roue touchée, un accroissement soudain et inattendu de la distance d’arrêt, ainsi qu’une augmentation des risques d’accident pouvant causer des blessures et/ou des dommages matériels. Mesure corrective : les détaillants doivent inspecter et remplacer les vases à diaphragme touchés.
