The issue
On certain vehicles, the fasteners attaching the power steering assist cylinder bracket to the frame rail may not be properly installed. This could cause the cylinder to become loose and/or detach from the frame rail, which could result in a sudden, unexpected increase in steering effort. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect and re-secure the power steering assist cylinder bracket as necessary.

Sur certains véhicules, les dispositifs qui fixent le support du cylindre d'assistance de la direction assistée au longeron de cadre de châssis pourraient ne pas être posés adéquatement. Cela pourrait faire en sorte que le cylindre devienne lâche ou se détache du longeron de cadre de châssis, ce qui pourrait augmenter subitement l'effort nécessaire pour tourner le volant. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques d'un accident blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et resécuriser le support du cylindre d'assistance de la direction assistée au besoin.
