The issue

On certain vehicles, when repairs were completed under recall campaign 2017-199 (Kia RC109), the high pressure fuel pipe may not have been properly installed on the fuel pump outlet. A fuel leak could occur if the pipe was damaged, misaligned or improperly torqued during the recall repair. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could create the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the connections of the high pressure fuel pipe to the fuel pump outlet for leaking fuel. If leaking fuel is detected, the fuel pipe will be replaced with a new one.

Sur certains véhicules, lorsque les réparations ont été effectuées dans le cadre du rappel 2017-199 (Kia RC109), le tuyau d'alimentation en carburant à haute pression pourrait ne pas avoir été posé adéquatement sur la sortie de la pompe à carburant. Une fuite de carburant pourrait se produire si le tuyau a été endommagé, mal aligné ou mal serré pendant la réparation effectuée dans le cadre du rappel. Une fuite de carburant, en présence d'une source d'inflammation, pourrait créer le risque d'un incendie blessant quelqu'un ou endommageant des biens matériels. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter les raccords reliant le tuyau d'alimentation en carburant à haute pression à la sortie de la pompe à carburant à la recherche de fuites de carburant. Si on détecte une fuite de carburant, le tuyau d'alimentation en carburant devra être remplacé par un tuyau neuf.
