The issue
Issue: On certain motorcycles, the seal for the final drive gear may have been damaged during assembly. This could result in an oil leak near the rear wheel. Safety Risk: An oil leak near the rear tire could affect handling and control of the motorcycle. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer for an inspection. If an oil leak is found, the dealer will replace the two seals and gasket in the final drive transmission box and install an extra seal. If no oil leak is found, the dealer will install an extra seal.

Problème: Sur certaines motos, le joint d'étanchéité de la transmission finale peut avoir été endommagé lors du montage, ce qui pourrait entraîner une fuite d'huile près de la roue arrière. Risques pour la sécurité : Une fuite d'huile près de la roue arrière pourrait affecter la conduite de la moto et donc augmenter les risques de collision. Mesures correctives : Le constructeur doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur moto chez un concessionnaire pour faire faire une inspection. Si une fuite d'huile est détectée, le concessionnaire remplacera les deux joints et le joint d'étanchéité de la boîte de transmission finale et installera un joint supplémentaire. Si aucune fuite d'huile n'est détectée, le concessionnaire installera un joint supplémentaire.
