The issue
Issue: On certain buses, the nut that attaches the steering wheel to the steering shaft may not have been properly tightened. If the nut loosens, the steering wheel could detach and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control can create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Blue Bird will notify owners by mail and provide instructions for how to inspect the torque of the steering wheel nut. If it is not properly tightened, the nut must be torqued as indicated in the recall instructions.

Problème : Sur certains autobus, l'écrou qui fixe le volant à l'arbre de direction pourrait ne pas avoir été serré adéquatement. Si l'écrou se desserrait, le volant pourrait se détacher et causer une perte de contrôle de la direction. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de contrôle de la direction peut créer un risque d'accident. Mesures correctives : La compagnie Blue Bird devra aviser les propriétaires par courrier et leur dire comment vérifier le couple de serrage de l'écrou du volant. Si l'écrou n'est pas adéquatement serré, on doit le serrer en suivant les instructions du rappel.
