Recall 2020401

The issue

Issue: On certain trucks with adjustable pedals, the accelerator pedal could get stuck on the all-weather floor mat. If this happens, the truck may not slow down when the driver releases the accelerator pedal. Note: If the driver continues to brake, the brake-throttle override system will close the throttle opening and allow the driver to stop the truck. Safety Risk: A stuck accelerator pedal could lead to unintended acceleration of the truck and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to replace the all-weather floor mat. You should remove the driver's all-weather floor mat until this recall is completed.

Problème : Sur certains camions à pédales réglables, la pédale d'accélérateur pourrait se coincer sur le tapis protecteur toutes saisons. Si cela se produit, le camion pourrait ne pas ralentir lorsque le conducteur relâche la pédale d'accélérateur. Remarque : Si le conducteur continue de freiner, le système de priorité des freins/du papillon des gaz fermera l'ouverture du papillon des gaz et permettra au conducteur d'immobiliser le camion. Risques pour la sécurité : Une pédale d'accélérateur coincée pourrait entraîner une accélération imprévue du camion et augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Fiat Chrysler Automobiles doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion chez un concessionnaire pour remplacer le tapis protecteur toutes saisons. Vous devriez retirer le tapis protecteur toutes saisons du côté conducteur jusqu'à ce que ce rappel soit terminé.
