The issue
Issue: On certain travel trailers equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Action: Escape Trailer will notify owners by mail. A remedy kit and instructions will be provided to you by either Dometic or Escape Trailer. You will be advised to take your trailer to an authorized Dometic service facility to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. If you smell propane gas inside the trailer, evacuate without delay and turn off the gas supply immediately.

Problème : Sur certaines caravanes classiques équipées d'une cuisinière au propane Dometic, il pourrait y avoir une odeur de propane après une courte période d'utilisation. Si un utilisateur tente de serrer le boulon du régulateur de débit pour arrêter l'odeur, il pourrait trop serrer le boulon et endommager un joint. Cela pourrait donner lieu à une fuite de gaz constante. Risques pour la sécurité : Une fuite de gaz propane pourrait créer un risque d'incendie ou d'explosion. Mesures correctives : Escape Trailer doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste. Un ensemble de réparation et des instructions leur seront fournis par Dometic ou Escape Trailer. Les propriétaires touchés devront amener leur caravane chez un centre de service autorisé de Dometic pour faire remplacer le matériel défectueux et effectuer un essai de détection des fuites. Si vous sentez une odeur de propane à l'intérieur de votre caravane, vous devez évacuer celle-ci et couper l'alimentation en gaz immédiatement.
