The issue

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) on the compliance label does not match the VIN that is stamped into the frame of the motorcycle. Safety Risk: Canadian regulations require each vehicle to have a unique vehicle identification number (VIN) that can be found in multiple places on the motorcycle. Corrective Actions: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to install a corrected compliance label.

Problème : Sur certaines motos, le numéro d'identification du véhicule (NIV) à 17 chiffres figurant sur l'étiquette de conformité ne correspond pas au NIV inscrit sur le cadre de la moto. Risques pour la sécurité : La réglementation canadienne exige que chaque véhicule ait un NIV unique inscrit à plusieurs endroits sur la moto. Mesures correctives : Yamaha doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur moto chez un concessionnaire pour installer une étiquette de conformité corrigée.
