The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the ring terminal that attaches the battery ground cable to the frame may break. If this happens, there could be a loss of electrical power and the engine could shut off suddenly. Safety Risk: A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the battery ground cable.

Problème : Sur certains camions, la cosse à anneau qui fixe le câble de mise à la masse de la batterie au châssis pourrait se briser. Si cela se produisait, il pourrait y avoir une perte d'alimentation électrique, et le moteur pourrait s'arrêter soudainement. Risques pour la sécurité : Une panne d'alimentation électrique pendant que le véhicule roule pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Mesures correctives : Navistar devra aviser les propriétaires par courrier et leur demander d'apporter leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire pour faire remplacer le câble de mise à la masse de la batterie.
