The issue

Issue: On certain trucks, the steering shaft may not have been properly installed on the steering gear. As a result, the shaft could separate from the steering gear and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the steering shaft and ensure that it is installed correctly. It will be repaired, if necessary.

Problème : Sur certains camions, l'arbre de direction pourrait ne pas avoir été adéquatement posé sur le boîtier de direction. En conséquence, l'arbre pourrait se détacher du boîtier et causer une perte de contrôle de la direction. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de contrôle de la direction pourrait causer un accident. Mesures correctives : Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur camion à un centre de service autorisé DTNA pour faire inspecter l'arbre de direction et s'assurer qu'il est bien posé. Les corrections nécessaires doivent être apportées au besoin.
